Spring Fling
The Spring Fling is the largest student-run carnival in the USA. More than 3000 students from the University of Arizona bring excitement to the Tucson community at Rillito Park, including white-knuckle and some gentler funfair rides, games and entertainment. Expect large crowds - last year's attendance was around 28,000.

Fiesta de Garibaldi
Tucson's DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center hosts the annual Fiesta de Garibaldi. More than 60,000 people join in the all-day festivities, which include live Hispanic music, games, food and plenty of partying . . . all in the spirit of the mariachi. The Fiesta de Garibaldi festival fits snugly with the annual Tucson Mariachi Conference at the Convention Center.

Great Tucson Beer Festival
The Tucson Electric Park Stadium hosts the annual beer festival. Over 60 breweries from Arizona and the Southwest are represented bringing over 200 of their finest beers to show off, and proceedings are swept along with the help of plenty of live music.

World Golf Championships: Accenture Match Play Championship
The beautiful, newly-opened Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Dove Mountain hosts the Accenture Match Play Championship, part of the World Golf Championships and one of the biggest tournaments in the world. The top 64 golfers from the official world rankings are joined by the leading players from the world's five individual tours. With so many great competitors involved in individual match play, spectators are sure to witness some epic duels. Tiger Woods beat Stewart Cink 8&7 at the Gallery Club in the 2008 final to take home more than US$1,000,000 in prize money.

Crush Wine Festival
Art and fine wine make good bedfellows as Tucson Museum of Art's Crush Wine Festival shows. With wine seminars, tastings, auctions, fine art and gourmet dinners, the annual two-day festival in Arizona goes down like a fine glass of merlot. Highlights of the Crush Wine Festival include the Crush Party, an event that includes a grand tasting of wines from around the world, hors d'oeuvres from local restaurants, and a silent auction of wine, wine accessories, travel and art. Festival of Books
Prose, poetry and the like are celebrated at the annual Tucson Festival of Books which draws over 340 authors to the University of Arizona campus. The two-day festival includes 200 exhibitors and features activities such as writing contests.
Modelled after successful book fairs such as the LA Times Festival of Books, the Tucson Festival of Books features around 15 stage areas where exhibitors, authors and literature lovers can interact. Exhibitors at the festival include booksellers, publishers and literacy and cultural organisations.
The book festival appeals to all ages and various tastes with events such as workshops for aspiring authors, book sales, book reviews and panel discussions and a children's area where the little ones can enjoy storytelling and arts and crafts activities.
